New Members Meet at Orientation

The first Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford New Member Orientation was held at the Delaware Hospice Center Wednesday January 20th.
Despite the gloomy, cold, icy weather, new and old members came from as far as West Chester Pennsylvania to learn more about the chamber and to meet other members.
New members from both 2009 and 2010 were invited to attend, along with CCGM Board of Directors and committee chairpersons.
2010 President Fred Rohm, from the Frederica Senior Center, and new board member Bettie Campbell, from the Dover Federal Credit Union were on hand to help review the many benefits the chamber offers its members.
Power Breakfast Coordinator Luanne Holland, from Delaware Hospice, let guests know the Power Breakfasts are booked for the year. Luanne says Delaware Hospice will be acting as hosts in November, however the event will not be a Power Breakfast, but will be the first ever Breakfast Business Mixer.
One of the new members who attended the orientation is Dean Geyer (who was there in place of his wife Carrie, representing Dove Chocolate Discoveries). In addition to the wonderful items (everything from chocolate covered pretzels to cooking utensils) found on the website, parties and fundraisers are other options available from Dove Chocolate Discoveries. To check out all the goodies go to www.dovechocolatediscoveries.com/carrie.
Heaven Capone, an independent Lifemax distributor & new member, came to the orientation to let people know a little bit of history concerning the product she sells. Lifemax is a distributor of Mila, what is called the miracle seed. This seed is said to have the highest and safest combination of omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, fiber and phytonutrients of any source on the planet. It is a non-genetically modified organism that’s pesticide free. It’s used to improve health. Visit http://livehealthy.lifemax.net to find out all the benefits of Mila, the miracle seed.
Another member in attendance is the owner of one of downtown Milford’s newest retail stores. Teri Carter, from EcoChic Boutique, offers products that are either organic, sustainable, recycled, fair trade and/or handmade and great for yourself or as a gift. The store is located at 28 S. Walnut Street. Visit Teri in person, or find EcoChic on Facebook.
Clothes 2 You owner and new member, Fernando Guajardo handed out coupons for his dry cleaning store, while letting attendees know he too has a green shop. At his location on Park Avenue in Milford, his motto is: Clean clothes- Clean Environment.
Three more New Member Orientations are scheduled for the year. The next is set for Wednesday April 21st at the Heritage at Milford, and the last two will be held at Delaware Hospice Wednesday July 28th and Wednesday October 27th.
