Keeping Money in Milford

As Gwen mentioned in last week’s Milford Chronicle, the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford recently Kicked-off the Be Loyal-Buy Local Program.
The program has actually been in the works for over a year, however the CCGM Board of Directors, and CCGM Ambassadors wanted to make sure everything was in order prior to the kick-off.
CCGM President, Fred Rohm, developed a similar program many years ago, and says it was so successful then that he thought it would be a great idea to bring it to the greater Milford area. He says buying locally is a vital part of the economic development of the chamber and the community in general. Fred, the CCGM Board of Directors and Chamber Ambassadors believe with the current economic status, initiating this campaign will help bring awareness to the importance of buying local and will help the local economy.
The goal of the campaign is to encourage members to support other members and will run as long as it takes to get all current members to sign the pledge.
Another goal of the program is to increase CCGM membership with local businesses that learn about the campaign, know the importance of buying local and want to be a part of the chamber business community.
CCGM Members who signed the pledge during the Open House Kick-off include:
Walls Farm & Garden, The N. Bowers Beach Fire Dept., Delmarva Broadcasting Co., The Milford Chronicle, The Frederica and Milford Senior Centers, Modern Gas Service, People’s Place, The Mortgage Market of DE, The City of Milford, FD Hammond Enterprises, Sound n-Secure, County Bank, Kent Sussex Industries, Artisans’ Bank, Wendy McGehrin-Avon, The Dover Federal Credit Union, First Class Properties, Mark Reeve Marketing, Milford Relay for Life, The Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club, Rita’s Ice Custard Happiness, Jeanie Morgan-Greatest Gourmet Candle, Clothes 2 You Cleaners, Nancy Burris-Mary Kay Consultant, Abbott’s Grill, Brightfields, Inc. and Downtown Milford, Inc.
Smokin’ Pig BBQ, and Kevin Gamble-Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, joined the chamber the day of the kick-off and immediately signed the pledge.
Please make sure to visit chamber members and tell them you heard about the Be Loyal-Buy Local Program. Let our members earn your business.
